Issue
The discussion board feature in SharePoint has the subject view by default. When you create a new view, it is not listed in the list of available views. In addition, when you try to navigate to the new view, you get redirected to the default subject view.
Resolution
In the view properties, Folders section, set show the view -> In All folder or in the toplevel folder.
